Purpose and scope
Complate Capital Trade Ltd is committed to high standards of anti-money-laundering (“AML”) and counter-terrorist-financing (“CTF”) compliance. This policy summarises the controls we apply in line with [applicable AML legislation].
It applies to all clients, employees, partners and introducers of the Company.
Customer due diligence (KYC)
Before we open an account, we identify and verify every client. We will typically ask for:
- a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card or driving licence);
- proof of residential address dated within the last six months;
- information about your employment, income and the source of the funds you intend to deposit;
- for corporate clients, company documents and details of directors and beneficial owners.
We may use electronic verification services and may ask for additional documents at any time.
Enhanced due diligence
We apply enhanced checks where the risk is higher, for example for politically exposed persons (PEPs), clients from higher-risk jurisdictions, or unusually large or complex transactions. This may include additional documentation on source of wealth and senior-management approval.
Sanctions and PEP screening
All clients are screened against international sanctions lists, including those issued by the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States, and against PEP and adverse-media databases, both at onboarding and on an ongoing basis.
Transaction monitoring
We monitor deposits, withdrawals and trading activity to identify transactions that are unusual for a client's profile. We may delay or refuse a transaction while we carry out further checks.
- Deposits must come from an account or card held in the client's own name. Third-party payments are not accepted.
- Withdrawals are returned to the original source of funds where possible.
- Cash deposits are not accepted.
Reporting and record keeping
We report suspicious activity to [Financial Intelligence Unit] as required by law. We are legally prohibited from informing a client that such a report has been made. We keep identification and transaction records for at least [five] years after the end of the business relationship.
Governance and training
We have appointed a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) responsible for the effectiveness of our AML framework. All staff receive regular AML training, and our controls are reviewed independently [annually].
